The Australian government has just announced that foreign students will need to show AUD$24,505.00 in savings from 1 October 2023.
This is to ease the cost-of-living pressures when living in Australia.
The government will close the loophole for students who have been in Australia for less than 6 months to allow agents to shift them from studying to accessing work.
The department will be looking closely at any providers that are providing fraudulent applications and have a high refusal rating.
